LIVING A DOUBLE LIFE

July 2nd 1997, the 19 year old Elise Martinez gave birth to a baby girl, while her 21 year old boyfriend Marco Casiano stood by her side. Even though neither the Martinez or the Casiano family showed their support towards the young couple, the couple kept their little baby girl Maya. Life was rough for the little family, but they always had each other. Until Elise decided she wanted more in life and left Marco and nine year old Maya. Marco didn't have a stable job or income, and the loneliness became too much. Her father started to drink heavily and her mother found a new family. Even though Elise kept in touch with Maya, the bitterness towards her mother started to grow, and that bitterness never really left the young girl. She never had much, and if she wanted something, she had to get it herself. Her love for her father is immense, but she always felt embarrased by her fathers drunken behavior and her mothers absence. She was so jealous of everybody else's families, always wishing that she was someone else. She wanted what she couldn't have. Cue the lying. Now Maya Casiano now comes from a wealthy family that always travels a lot, who has everything. She has everyone around her fooled, even her own boyfriend. But to match the image, she needed money. But without anyone knowing. By day she is a Psychology student and by night, a high end stripper.

Maya never felt the need to be in the spotlight, but her fear of being left on the sideline was always bigger. She exudes this calm and friendly energy, which people often are drawn to. People naturally just want to be her friend, because she has this sweet nature. Maya is extremely intelligent, always on top of everything, but she never rubs it in anyone's face. To meet Maya is to like Maya, it's quite impossible to dislike her. Not only does Maya seem perfect, but so does her life. She is always seen in expensive clothes, lives in a nice apartment, has a wealthy family, and the perfect boyfriend. Some might find her boring, and to be honest, - so does Maya. She created this life for her self, this perfect life that she always dreamt of. But she is so bored. Her job as a stripper was supposed to be a temporary solution, as she saw it as disgusting and degrading. Surprisingly enough, she really started to enjoy it, and a fire within her ignited. She started to explore her own sensuality and sexuality, and her hunger for power grew. Her perfect persona completely changes when she works. She still enjoys her picture perfect life, but she wants the best of both worlds. So not only does she live in a lie, she lives a double life and lies to everyone in her life. But that only creates more exitement, and a desire to play with the fire even more.
